Quality Manager – Tipton

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Quality Manager to join our well-established client based in Tipton , on a full-time permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a senior role in a high-integrity, regulated manufacturing environment, with real opportunities for career development and progression.

Shifts
  • Monday – Friday, 8 : 00am – 5 : 00pm (39 hours per week)
Rates of Pay
  • £50,000 – £60,000 per annum

Day-to-Day Duties
  • Leading the quality function across project and operational domains, including dimensional control, NDT, weld quality and quality engineering
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining a fully integrated QMS aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 3834 and wider industry standards
  • Preparing, reviewing and maintaining Project Quality Plans, ITPs, welding quality documentation and Lifetime Records
  • Conducting and leading root-cause investigations, CAPA activity and continuous improvement programmes
  • Ensuring calibration, traceability and maintenance of all quality-critical equipment and gauges
  • Providing hands‑on quality support to production and engineering teams, promoting a “right first time” culture
  • Participating in daily SQDCP meetings and taking prompt actions to prevent production disruption
  • Supporting the setup of a new manufacturing facility, embedding quality processes into layout, line design and inspection checkpoints
  • Maintaining audit readiness, leading internal audits and ensuring regulatory and customer compliance
  • Representing the quality function during client audits, inspections and cross‑functional reviews
  • Mentoring and coaching the quality team and operational staff in quality standards and behaviours
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering or related subject
  • Proven experience as a Quality Manager or Senior Quality Engineer within regulated, high-integrity manufacturing environments (aerospace, defence, or similar)
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 3834, EN 1090 and associated quality frameworks
  • Lead / Internal Auditor experience (ISO 9001)
  • Experience generating and managing NCRs, QC grading and Lifetime Records
  • Hands‑on experience in dimensional inspection, NDT, welding quality and QMS implementation
  • Strong problem‑solving capability using Lean Six Sigma or structured methodologies (DMAIC, 8D, FMEA, SPC, 5S, 7W)
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain BPSS and SC clearance (conditional requirement)
Desirable Experience
  • Experience supporting the setup of new manufacturing facilities and new‑QMS rollout
  • Membership of a professional body (e.g., CQI) or willingness to work towards it
  • Engineering qualification desirable
Training Provided
  • Full industry‑related training and ongoing development support will be provided
