Overview

Contek are working with a precision engineering client who provide services to the Aerospace & Defence, Space, Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical, Chemical, Nuclear, Bio-Medical, Automotive, White Goods and General Precision Engineering Industries.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inspector to join their Gloucester team. You'll be responsible for inspecting precision-engineered parts to ensure they meet customer and industry specifications, across aerospace, defence, oil & gas, and other sectors.

Quedgeley - Gloucester | Part Time (initially) | CNC / Precision Machining
Reports To: General Manager, Gloucester Facility

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their inspection career within a leading precision machining business, with a clear pathway into Quality Control/Assurance roles in the future.

Initially a 4 day week: 6 hours per day.

Responsibilities
  • Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections of machined components.
  • Use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, CMMs, vision systems).
  • Record and maintain accurate inspection results.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, raising NCRs where required.
  • Report and record scrap parts/issues.
  • Assist in preparing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
  • Support creation of Quality Plans and inspection documents for job packs.
  • Program/operate CMMs and vision systems (training provided if needed).
  • Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and supervisors to maintain high standards.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Apprentice trained or equivalent manufacturing/engineering experience.
  • Previous experience in inspection or quality-related work (ideally aerospace/precision machining).
  • Knowledge of Wire/Spark EDM processes (desirable, not essential).
