Job description
Role Overview

This position sits within the manufacturing quality function and is responsible for verifying the accuracy and consistency of precision-engineered components produced both in-house and by external suppliers. The role plays a key part in maintaining high manufacturing standards by ensuring components meet specifications before progressing through the production process.

This is an early morning shift.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Carry out detailed inspections on machined components at various stages of production, including initial setups, final outputs, and parts sent for subcontract processing.
  • Confirm all components conform to technical drawings, specifications, and tolerance requirements.
  • Review and verify that the latest engineering revisions are being used, escalating discrepancies where necessary.
  • Perform routine in-process checks to ensure inspection records and operator documentation are completed accurately.
  • Support the management and upkeep of inspection tools and measurement equipment, ensuring calibration schedules are maintained.
  • Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to manage outsourced processes and confirm returned components meet quality standards.
  • Work in accordance with established quality management systems, including ISO standards and internal procedures.
  • Promote and adhere to all company policies relating to health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • Strong background in inspection and quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Confident using a wide range of inspection equipment, including micrometers, verniers, gauges, and portable measurement systems.
  • Previous exposure to CNC machining or precision engineering environments is highly desirable.
  • Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
  • Comfortable using computer systems for recording and reporting inspection data.
Salary

£25,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience
