Quality Engineer - Carbon Capture & Heavy Civils Project

Location: North Wales
Rate: £350 per shift (Freelance - Outside IR35)
Contract Duration: 2.5 years

We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join a major carbon capture and heavy civils infrastructure project in North Wales. This is a long‑term freelance opportunity on a nationally significant low‑carbon energy scheme, offering excellent continuity of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage the Project Quality Plan in line with client and industry standards
  • Carry out site inspections, audits and quality surveillance on civils, concrete, steel and M&E works
  • Review and manage ITPs, inspection records and quality documentation
  • Raise and manage NCRs and corrective actions
  • Ensure works comply with ISO 9001 and project specifications
  • Liaise with construction, design and client teams to maintain project quality standards
  • Support final handover documentation and quality packs
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer / QA Engineer on major civil or infrastructure projects
  • Background in heavy civils, pipelines, concrete structures or energy projects
  • Strong understanding of ITPs, test plans and inspection regimes
  • Eligible to work in the UK
