This is a 3 month fixed term contract.
We are seeking a proactive and detail‑driven Quality Engineer to join our Quality Management team. This is a key role in driving continuous improvement across products, processes, and systems, with a strong focus on reducing the Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) and Defective Parts Per Million (DPPM). You'll be part of a collaborative environment where your expertise will directly contribute to delivering quality excellence and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support and maintain quality systems to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.
- Lead initiatives to reduce CoPQ by identifying inefficiencies, waste, and recurring quality issues.
- Monitor and analyse DPPM metrics, driving corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality concerns.
- Facilitate root cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone) and ensure timely closure of non‑conformances.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and process validations to uphold product and process integrity.
- Support new product introductions by ensuring quality requirements are met.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through training, coaching, and awareness activities.
- Act as the primary liaison with Customer Services for managing and resolving customer returns.
- Investigate customer returns promptly, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Perform incoming goods inspections and on‑site product inspections when required.
- Execute internal audits and Factory Production Control (FPC) audits according to schedule.
- Report quality issues, adverse trends, and corrective actions to stakeholders in a timely, data‑driven manner.
Skills & Experience Required
- Prior experience in a quality assurance role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Competence in metrology and precision measuring equipment.
- Certified or experienced Internal Auditor (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP system experience (e.g., AX) is advantageous.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills.
