Quality Engineer

Location: Wimborne, Dorset
Salary: £35,000
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
(Monday-Thursday 7:30 am-4:00 pm, Friday 7:30 am-1:00 pm)

The Opportunity

An innovative and growing design and manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Quality Engineer to support and enhance its quality processes across product development, assembly, and supply chain operations. With a flat structure and collaborative culture, this role offers real scope to influence quality standards and drive continuous improvement.

You will work closely with Production, Design, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to ensure products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality policies and procedures
  • Support and maintain the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO standards
  • Carry out product testing and inspection to ensure quality requirements are met
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Manage supplier quality performance and standards
  • Handle customer RMAs, warranty claims, and quality-related issues
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints in a timely manner
  • Conduct internal, supplier, customer, and third-party audits
Experience & Skills Required
  • Proven experience in a Quality Engineering or Quality Management role
  • Background in manufacturing or assembly environments
  • Strong understanding of ISO standards
  • Experience driving quality improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally
  • Organised, analytical, and proactive approach to problem‑solving
