Job summary

A leading fabrication company in Scotland is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to ensure effective performance of Quality Control activities. You will establish relationships with personnel, coordinate QC activities, and ensure compliance with customer specifications. Candidates are required to have experience in a fabrication environment and inspection experience. This full-time role involves 40 hours a week and is integral to our operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fabrication environment.
  • Inspection experience is essential.
  • Ability to co-ordinate internal resources and 3rd parties is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Establish good working relationships with managers and personnel.
  • Review and approve Material Requisition Books.
  • Coordinate QC activities and review of material certification.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Maintain full traceability of weld and material information.

Job description
Job Purpose

Ensuring the effective performance of Quality Control activities required to demonstrate product conformance, while adhering to company and client procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establishing good working relationships with all managers, superintendents, production and Q.C personnel to ensure effective operation of all Quality Control activities at appointed Fabrication facility.
  • Reviewing, revising and approving Material Requisition Books (MRB), ensuring customer requirements are verified.
  • Coordinating all QC activities including review of material certification.
  • Ensuring that the appropriate levels of quality are met, and that final product produced is compliant with customer specification and expectations.
  • Ensuring all aspects of NDT and dimensional tolerances for fabrication are correct and ensuring that all necessary certification is in place prior to final release.
  • Preparing documentation for 3rd party inspectors and client representatives prior to final release.
  • Organising and liaising with 3rd party inspectors and client representatives ensuring requirements are complete for existing works.
  • Ensuring full traceability of weld and material information is maintained and recorded on the company database.
  • Reviewing and verifying documentation dossiers for accuracy prior to submission.
  • Developing self in accordance with the changing responsibilities of the role.
