Motor Vehicle Skills Assessor - South

Location: Remote role with travel across sites across Wiltshire and surrounding areas.

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Salary: Excellent salary on offer + car allowance

Help Apprentices Succeed and Stay on Track. Do you have a passion for coaching and guiding learners through their training journey? We are looking for a Motor Vehicle Skills Assessor to play a key role in supporting apprentices, helping them progress, stay engaged, and achieve their qualifications.

You will be central to helping apprentices reach their goals and ensuring programmes meet all awarding body and regulatory standards.

What You Will Do

Day-to-day, you will work directly with apprentices to help them achieve their qualifications and develop the skills they need for a successful career in the motor vehicle industry. You will:

  • Deliver high-quality, structured assessments in line with apprenticeship standards and awarding body requirements.
  • Observe and assess learners in the workplace or training environment, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver practical and theoretical learning sessions to reinforce knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress, assessments, and achievement, ensuring all documentation is compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular progress reviews with apprentices, identifying any areas for support and creating action plans to help them succeed.
  • Provide guidance and support to learners, helping them understand their strengths, areas for improvement, and next steps.
  • Work closely with employers and training providers to ensure training aligns with workplace needs and apprenticeship outcomes.
  • Promote safe working practices and professional standards at all times.
  • Keep up to date with industry developments, regulations, and best practices to maintain professional expertise.
What You Will Bring

Essential:

  • Substantial experience as a qualified assessor.
  • Strong background in the motor vehicle/mechanical sector.
  • Good knowledge of work-based learning programmes.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (or equivalent).
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
  • Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanics (minimum).

Security Clearance

This role requires Security Check (SC) and Enhanced DBS clearance. Please note: eligibility for certain roles may be affected by nationality, residency, or citizenship status.
