Job summary

A leading educational provider in Wigan is searching for a Qualified English Teacher to join their team. You will engage small classes of students with diverse needs, creating tailored lessons that inspire learning. This role offers the chance to take on responsibilities and develop leadership skills within a supportive environment. Candidates must have Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) and experience in alternative provisions with SEMH students. This position is temp-to-perm, allowing for a contract should the placement prove successful.

Qualifications

Job description

Secondary English Teacher Location: Wigan Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday Hours: 0900 - 1500 Pay: £140 - £200 P/D Start Date: February

We are looking for a qualified English Teacher for a brilliant therapeutic alternative provision in Wigan to engage small classes of young people with English.

You will have responsibility for establishing student benchmarks and engaging them in lessons that suit their needs.

There are also further opportunities for sufficiently experienced candidates to lead on curriculum for the provision.

This is an ideal opportunity for a teacher looking to take on more responsibility and have some freedom around their approach to teaching.

You must hold Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) to be eligible for this position.

This position is also temp-to-perm, with a contract offered if the placement is successful.

This school supports secondary aged students, some of which are on EHCPs.

Due to the nature of the students, you must be comfortable managing emotional dysregulation, some challenging behaviour, and additional needs including ASD, ADHD & Anxiety.

This provision brings a strong therapeutic approach, rather than a punitive one.
