The English Department is a well-established, supportive team that values creativity, collaboration, and high standards of teaching and learning.
We are seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher to provide full-time cover from January through to July 2026.
You will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop strong literacy skills, confidence in analysis, and a genuine appreciation for language and literature.
Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum
Monitor, assess, and report on student progress effectively
Create and adapt schemes of work and teaching resources
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice
Support extracurricular activities, including clubs, trips, or school productions where possible
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A relevant degree in English or a related subject
Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential)
Strong classroom management and communication skills
A genuine commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
Enthusiasm for inspiring and motivating young learners
