Are you an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher looking for a full-time role in a high-performing, well-established secondary school with a strong pastoral ethos, excellent behaviour, and a culture built on ambition and respect? This forward‑thinking school is seeking a qualified English specialist to join their thriving English department from January/February 2026 until Christmas 2026 to cover a maternity leave.

The Role

• Teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential).
• Deliver engaging, challenging and inspiring lessons that support strong progress in reading, writing and critical analysis.
• Plan, assess and feedback in line with department and whole‑school policies.
• Work collaboratively within an established English team known for high standards and strong results.
• Support the wider school with occasional general cover duties across other subject areas.

• Holds QTS and has proven experience teaching English.
• Has high expectations and the ability to engage, stretch and support learners of all abilities.

• Is adaptable, reliable and comfortable providing occasional general cover.
