Responsibilities
- As a Public Health Staff Nurse 0 – 19, participate in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.
- Work in partnership with children, young people and families in environments such as family hubs, clinic settings, families’ homes and schools including early years settings.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and packages of care to people on an allocated caseload; promote independence and autonomy; work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with other members of the CYP Public Health Service 0–19 to provide services in response to identified needs, including safeguarding and supporting children and young people and their families, using evidence‑based, early intervention strategies.
- Maintain good working relationships with partners, colleagues and community organisations providing health advice regarding the management and care of clients/service users.
- Evaluate care and take appropriate action to lead to improvements in quality standards.
- Work autonomously under the guidance of the specialist community public health nurse and support and train junior members of the team, including students.
- Support hybrid working with remote home working and covering the locality of Weymouth and Portland; discuss flexible hours at interview stage.
Qualifications and requirements
- This is a part‑time post of 22.5 or 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hours can be worked flexibly (e.g., condensed hours or shorter hours across five days).
- Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.
- Applications from candidates that require current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible to apply.
