Purpose of consultancy

Ripple Global Health is seeking an experienced public health nutrition consultant to support an analytical research project examining treatment outcomes among children with moderate wasting.

The assignment will involve developing a statistical analysis plan (SAP) and drafting a manuscript for peer‑reviewed publication, using data from an existing study. The analysis will focus on outcomes among children with moderate wasting.

Further details on the study setting, intervention, and dataset will be shared with shortlisted candidates to ensure confidentiality.

Deliverables

The consultant will be expected to:

  • Develop a robust, policy‑relevant statistical analysis plan
  • Conduct or support statistical analyses assessing treatment outcomes among moderately wasted children
  • Draft one manuscript suitable for submission to a peer‑reviewed journal
  • Revise analyses and manuscript drafts based on feedback from the Ripple Global Health International research team
Minimum Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Advanced training in public health nutrition, epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related field
  • Strong experience with child anthropometry and nutrition outcomes (e.g., WAZ, WHZ, MUAC)
  • Proven experience developing statistical analysis plans and authoring manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals
  • Familiarity with randomized or quasi‑experimental nutrition studies
  • Ability to work independently and deliver outputs within agreed timelines
  • Proven experience in research and writing clear, precise analytical reports, compliant with international standards
  • Experience working at the country level, particularly in development, fragile, and humanitarian settings
  • Familiarity with statistical software packages commonly used in epidemiological analysis (e.g., R and Stata)
Timeline

The assignment is expected to be completed within four months, including development of the SAP, completion of analyses, and drafting of the manuscript.
