Public Health & Noise Nuisance Officer

The Barnet Council Public Health & Noise Nuisance Officer plays a vital role in safeguarding the health and wellbeing of residents, workers and visitors by managing noise and nuisance requests, enforcing environmental legislation, and coordinating out‑of‑hours services.

  • Respond to and investigate noise and nuisance service requests.
  • Advise, assist and enforce legal standards under key legislation such as the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and Control of Pollution Act 1974.
  • Conduct site visits, gather evidence and prepare legal notices to uphold community safety.
  • Participate in the out‑of‑hours service on a rota basis (with additional pay).
