Psychology Graduate – Teaching & Learning Support (Harrow)

This role is ideal for psychology graduates seeking practical experience working with young people in a school setting. You will support teachers, pastoral teams, and students across the school, with a focus on learning, behaviour, and wellbeing.

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting students with additional learning needs, including those with SEN, SEMH, autism, ADHD, or anxiety.
  • Working 1:1 or with small groups to help develop emotional regulation, social skills, and confidence.
  • Assisting in the classroom to ensure students remain engaged and on task.
  • Helping teachers deliver tailored interventions and behaviour support strategies.
  • Observing and recording student progress, behaviour patterns, and wellbeing indicators.
  • Supporting pastoral and safeguarding teams where appropriate.
  • Encouraging positive relationships, participation, and resilience among students.
  • Assisting with general classroom duties, homework support, and study tasks.
Requirements
  • A degree in Psychology (or a closely related field).
  • A genuine interest in child development, mental health, and educational psychology.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, patient, and supportive approach.
  • Previous experience working with young people or vulnerable groups is desirable but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
