A healthcare provider in the UK is seeking enthusiastic Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to join their NHS Talking Therapies team. This role involves delivering low intensity CBT interventions and working directly with clients through various modes, including telephone and face-to-face sessions. An exciting opportunity has arisen for Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP) to join the NHS Talking Therapies for Depression and Anxiety delivered by NHS Talking Therapies Southwark (TTS). We are seeking enthusiastic PWPs who are passionate about developing their skills in order to help improve the lives of others. Successful applicants can expect to join a highly valued and motivated TTS workforce who are committed to develop a person‑centred and effective psychological assessment and treatment service to the local population.
We provide extra supervision and CPD trainings on working with specific client groups, e.g. perinatal, older adult, young people, clients presented with long‑term conditions. There are opportunities to shadow or facilitate our treatment groups (e.g. Overcoming Worries, Connecting with You). We are committed to get the very best out of our staff and support staff in their career aspirations. We have career pathways available, where you will be able to develop your skills and build on your experience to progress into other specialties like High Intensity CBT therapist or Clinical Psychologist.
Our PWPs deliver low intensity CBT intervention, offer telephone or video sessions working from home or a team base, and face‑to‑face sessions either from the team base or from one of the GP surgeries. PWPs attend weekly team meetings, weekly individual case management supervision, and a fortnightly clinical skills supervision group. There is also a bimonthly meeting for all PWPs, their supervisors and our PWP leads, to review, discuss and develop the low intensity provision within the service.

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is based at Maudsley Hospital in Denmark Hill, London. The South team is currently based at the Maudsley Hospital in Camberwell and the north team at the Munro Centre near London Bridge. Within each team, CBT therapists, psychologists, counsellors, psychological wellbeing practitioners and career coaches work closely together offering assessment, psycho‑educational workshops and groups, as well as individual treatment sessions covering all the NHS Talking Therapies recommended therapy modalities.
