Affinity Partnersips are working with a co-educational Alternative Provision based in the London Borough of Hillingdon, supporting pupils aged 5-19 who cannot attend mainstream school for a variety of reasons. Our provision offers up to 120 places for students, many of whom have experienced, or are at risk of, permanent exclusion. We provide a nurturing, structured environment where every young person is given the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The school shares its site with Skills Hub, and while this role will primarily be based at Pride, there may be occasional crossover during the day.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and versatile PSHE & Food Technology Teacher to join our team from January. This is a full-time position, split between delivering PSHE and Food Technology lessons to pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will inspire students through engaging lessons that promote personal development, practical life skills, and healthy living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality PSHE and Food Technology lessons tailored to SEMH learners.
  • Create a safe, supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behaviour and emotional well‑being.
  • Teach practical cooking skills and promote healthy eating habits.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to ensure consistency and progress across the curriculum.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and pastoral support.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching PSHE and / or Food Technology, ideally within an SEMH or Alternative Provision setting.
  • Strong understanding of strategies to support pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
