A leading NHS trust is seeking a dedicated Band 7 Prostate Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to provide expert care and support to prostate cancer patients. This full-time position (30 hours/week) requires a passionate nurse with expertise in oncology and exceptional communication skills. If you are a dedicated and inspirational nurse with expertise in prostate cancer and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care, we invite you to apply for this 12-month opportunity as a Band 7 Prostate Cancer CNS, or Band 6 Prostate Cancer CNS working 30 hours a week, depending on your experience and competencies. The CNS will need to comply with the professional standards associated with the role and as outlined in the ACCEND capabilities framework.
Our Uro-oncology service provides local and tertiary services from diagnosis to treatment and follow up care for prostate cancer patients. We are a busy referral unit for suspected prostate cancer and provide a fast diagnosis service in line with the best-timed pathway for prostate cancer diagnosis. We are the specialist surgery centre for patients undergoing major prostate oncology surgery and focal therapy in north and northeast London. UCLH provides non-surgical treatment modalities for prostate including proton beam radiotherapy, medical and clinical oncology inclusive of a clinical trial portfolio.
A Prostate Cancer CNS is a highly trained nurse who provides expert care, support, and guidance to patients with cancer throughout their treatment journey. They serve as a key point of contact, offering emotional support, managing symptoms, coordinating care, and helping patients navigate complex treatment options. The CNS plays a critical role in improving patient outcomes and ensuring personalized, holistic care.
This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse looking for a new challenge who has core skills and expertise in prostate cancer who would want to work in a centre of excellence with a team of clinical experts. The post holder will require excellent communication skills and a passion for quality patient care, teaching and education.
