Property Building Surveyor (Social Housing)

37 Hours Per Week

Package circa £49,000 per annum

Horsham, West Sussex (Hybrid)

Are you an experienced surveying professional who could work in our Asset Management team and looking for your next challenge in a customer focused business with a strong social purpose? If so, Saxon Weald could be the place for you.

As a Property Surveyor, you will manage the delivery of high-quality maintenance, investment and sustainability projects for our customers. This will include damp and mould investigations, fault finding, recommending appropriate technical solutions, liaising with customers and managing contractors to improve the condition of our property assets. The work is varied and provides the opportunity to be involved in a range of projects and use your knowledge and skills fully.

You will already have gained valuable experience in the building and construction field and will get satisfaction from managing a variety of projects from start to finish, ensuring we deliver quality outcomes, value for money and excellent customer service. You will have up to date knowledge of relevant legislation and experience in dealing with damp and mould cases effectively and with care.

We are looking for a dynamic, and proactive Property Surveyor who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The Asset team are on an exciting journey to enhance the customer experience and set the team up for success, so join us and you’ll be part of a friendly and committed team who work hard to help us deliver our purpose of enabling positive life chances by providing safe and secure homes.

To be successful in this role you will need to:
  • Have practical experience of managing maintenance and improvement projects
  • Have experience of building investigations to identify the root cause of damp and mould, or other building defects
  • Have a proven track record within the construction or building surveying industry
  • Be able to proactively build good customer and contractor relationships
  • Be highly organised, able to balance and prioritise the administrative requirements of your role with the hands on and technical competence needed
  • Have confidence in using in house IT data management systems And Microsoft Office and Excel (training will of course be provided)
  • Have great attention to detail, excellent communication skills and work with the principle of ‘One Team’
  • Housing Association experience would be an advantage
