Job summary

Communications Officer

Our client is looking for an experienced Communications Officer

Working pattern

This is a hybrid role and the officer will be required to be working in the Enfield Civic Centre 1‑2 days a week, including Wednesdays which is our team office day.

Placement duration expected to be 6 months.

The main responsibilities of the role are:
  • To lead on managing the correspondence received by the Journeys and Places team.
  • This role is a key reputational role within a high profile and at times controversial programme. The postholder will hold a public facing role and regularly liaise with Councillors and MPs.
  • To represent Enfield Council through various communication channels, namely email on a day to day basis as described above, but also at in-person events, webinars, information sessions and engagement activities, and on social media.
  • To ensure that all communications and marketing materials for the programme align with brand guidelines.
  • To support the delivery of engagement and consultation materials.
  • To manage the programme's social media channels.
  • To deliver a high quality monthly programme newsletter on current projects, upcoming events and opportunities, and local stories.
  • To support the wider programme through a range of additional activities, including attending occasional programme community events, some of which may be held in the evening or weekends.
  • To assist the wider programme in managing personal data of people who email or take part in a consultation in line with GDPR.
Essential skills and experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of personal organisation to manage processes and administrative tasks.
  • Experience in communications including social media, email and letter writing and other written communications including for web and newsletters.
