Responsibilities
  • Experience in consultancy work and project delivery in the construction industry, specifically in energy and power, transportation, and/or water projects
  • Experience delivering early cost estimates, cost plans and estimating to support management of client budgets
  • An understanding of measurement techniques, market factors, risk allowances and preliminaries assessments
  • Experience managing end-to-end procurement, including developing procurement and contracting plans, tendering, evaluation, and contract award, all in alignment with NEC principles and industry standards
  • Ability to assess contractors and suppliers for financial stability, cost competitiveness, and delivery capability to support informed decisions and risk mitigation
  • Ability to lead price negotiations using market data, scenario modeling, and cost analysis to secure best-value terms and resolve disputes
  • Proficiency in computerised measurement packages (e.g. CostX)
  • Client facing experience, driving value into the projects through value engineering
  • Degree in quantity surveying or a relevant qualification and Chartered Quantity Surveyor or working towards (MRICS or equivalent) preferred
