We’re a busy, fast-growing heavy diesel mechanical workshop looking for an organised, proactive Project Planner to join our team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy keeping jobs running smoothly, and can juggle schedules, people and priorities, this role is for you.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating, and tracking mechanical repair and maintenance jobs from start to finish. Working closely with our workshop manager, fitters, subcontractors and clients, you’ll ensure every job runs safely, on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and schedule workshop jobs, labour and resources
  • Create job plans, timelines and workpacks
  • Ordering and maintaining spare parts for various machines as needed
  • Coordinate parts and tools ordering for multiple projects from master quote
  • Track job progress, variations and delays
  • Update clients on job status and ETAs
  • Liaise with fitters and subcontractors to keep work flowing
  • Ensure documentation, photos and job notes are completed accurately
  • Maintain workshop systems for timesheets, job costing and reporting
  • Support the workshop manager with daily planning and coordination
About You
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling or coordinating (mechanical/industrial/heavy diesel highly regarded)
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to follow up and keep people accountable
  • Able to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines
  • Good computer skills (job management systems, Excel, or similar)
  • Safety-conscious and detail-focused
