Job summary

A renowned heritage organization in Liverpool seeks a skilled Project Manager to oversee temporary and permanent exhibitions. Responsibilities include managing workflows, budgets, and team collaboration to ensure the highest quality outputs. The ideal candidate has experience in project management, particularly in heritage environments, and possesses strong organizational and interpersonal skills. This role may require occasional out-of-hours work during exhibition install periods.

Overview

We are the independent charity that loves and looks after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. Responsibilities
  • End-to-end project management of temporary and permanent exhibitions and other Public Engagement projects, from artistic installations to large events.
  • Lead cross-disciplinary teams of interpretation colleagues, curators, designers, contracts and other stakeholders in implementing creative and impactful displays.
  • Manage the project delivery, keeping the team to vision and ensuring high-quality outputs are delivered on time and to budget.
  • Apply the project management framework across all major Public Engagement projects.
  • Day-to-day financial administration of projects, keeping costs-plans up to date, producing accurate cost forecasts, raising and processing orders and invoices, producing monthly financial reporting and managing change control.
  • Manage onsite installations and act as contract administrator on some projects, working closely with the QS team to produce and run build and consultant tenders.
Qualifications
  • Experience in Project Management and proven project management and financial acumen alongside excellent organisational skills.
  • Collaborative worker, self-starter, real team player and willing to get involved in a fast-paced and often pressured environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and keen eye for detail.
  • Experience of working in heritage environments and on museum or heritage exhibitions in a fast-paced project delivery environment.
  • Understanding of the support needed to develop creative projects.
  • Procurement process and contracts experience.

Some out of hours work may be required, especially during exhibition install periods.
