Project Manager / Creative Therapists FTC

Victim Support NI are seeking to recruit a Project Manager to take forward a children and young person’s project which has evolved from the former Aggression Related Trauma Project (ART) located in the Northern and Western Health and Social Care Trust.The project will provide long term therapeutic support to children and young people aged 8 - 20 years who have experienced physical, sexual or emotional trauma. In addition, the project will deliver themed psycho-education programmes for parents and guardians and knowledge sharing events with other stakeholders.We are seeking to appoint a Project Manager who has the vision, passion and experience to support the ongoing success and development of this project.The post holder will be employed 20 hours per week and will be based at Victim Support NI offices either in Belfast or Foyle-this will be agreed with the successful candidate. It is envisaged that a proportion of the post holder’s duties can be carried out remotely. The post holder will be required to undertake travel to Northern Trust area and throughout Northern Ireland and beyond. They may be required to undertake other duties commensurate with their role as and when required within Victim Support NI.

Responsibilities
  • To manage the project in line with relevant legislation and procedural guidance and in respect of targeted outputs and outcomes agreed with the funder.
  • Act as the key contact for referrals ensuring that they are efficiently and effectively allocated to therapists within the project within the agreed time frame, ensuring optimum deployment of resources and effective service delivery.
  • Establish a quarterly stakeholder forum of relevant and influential key stakeholders, including a young person forum, to help support and develop the project.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the service in line with the needs of its beneficiaries through the gathering, collating and analysis of activity, information and data. Report on opportunities for service enhancement or expansion as these.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Third level qualification e.g. Degree/Diploma in a health, social science, counselling or therapy related field AND 2 years’ experience of project/service management in a health, community or social care disciplineOR
  • A minimum of five years’ experience of managing services involving children and young people affected by trauma/adverse childhood experiences.
  • Evidence an understanding of the key issues facing children and young people affected by trauma/adverse childhood experiences including knowledge of legislation and guidance in relation to children and young people.
  • Experience of assessing, prioritising need and risk and dealing with the complex issues faced by children and young people.
  • Experience of delivering therapeutic interventions to children and young people.
  • Experience of managing a team who work with a client group experiencing a diverse range of presenting therapeutic issues.
  • Experience of auditing or service evaluation in a health/social care discipline.
