Join Our Team as a Project Manager - Civil Works and Shape the Future of Nuclear Power
What You Will Do:
- Lead and manage the civil works component of a major nuclear power program over a 10-year timeline.
- Oversee the delivery of systems, structures, and components, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including design and procurement, to optimize project performance.
- Engage early with stakeholders and equipment suppliers to identify risks, obsolescence issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage internal and external interfaces, ensuring seamless integration of design, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Drive contractual negotiations, manage procurement processes, and oversee technical elements to meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Apply lessons learned and promote knowledge sharing to continuously improve project delivery.
Required Skills:
- Degree and Chartered status in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience managing large, complex projects from inception through to handover within a technically demanding environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in civil works, construction management, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Strong understanding of project management tools, including Earned Value Management (EVM), budget control, risk management, and schedule tracking.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams, manage contracts, control costs, and handle commercial negotiations.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience working within the nuclear or energy sector.
- Familiarity with nuclear safety and regulatory standards.
- Knowledge of procurement strategies for high-value infrastructure projects.
- Certification in PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management methodologies.
- Exposure to site‑specific design changes and managing technical interface agreements.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field; a Master's degree is beneficial.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or recognized equivalent.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive project management experience, ideally in large‑scale industrial or nuclear projects.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel to project sites, primarily in the UK.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, combining on-site and remote collaboration.
- Commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and ethical standards.
