Job description
Overview

We are looking for a Project Manager with extensive experience in structures and bridges to join our Highways team in Tebay. In this role you will take the lead on delivering a major project and will work across a range of disciplines, including structures, bridges, drainage, and temporary works. A full driving licence is essential due to the role’s requirements.

Location: Tebay, Cumbria. Travel to the office is required, with remote working available. Contract: Permanent, Full-time, 40 hours per week. Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + £6.7k annual car allowance + private healthcare + benefits.

Location and sponsorship: we are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities
  • As Project Manager, you’ll support the senior leadership team with buildability, programme planning, phasing, and forecasting, while overseeing early site works to move the project from design into delivery over the next year. Following this phase, you’ll transition to leading the delivery of the M6 Lune Gorge major project starting in 2027.
  • Deliver the project safely, on time, within budget, and to high standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Manage project-related incidents and carry out regular inspections.
  • Maintain records related to the construction process for administration purposes.
  • Ensure all works meet specification and quality standards, and maintain quality inspection records in line with the quality plan.
  • Attend regular meetings to report progress, address variations, and ensure clear communication across teams.
What we are looking for
  • Significant project management experience within the construction industry.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • SMSTS certification.
