What you’ll be doing

As a Project Manager (Delivery) within Dumfries District you will be responsible for the efficient delivery and financial management of capital projects including overhead line refurbishment, switchgear and primary plant while adhering to the appropriate safety, regulatory and license obligations for the electricity distribution network.

This will involve working with framework partners to provide robust delivery plans and reporting on key milestones as required.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Good knowledge of the regulatory environment including relevant output and incentive mechanisms.
  • General contract, commercial and regulatory awareness.
  • An appreciation of network operation, design, and use.
  • Effective stakeholder and customer service engagement and management.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities using sound engineering and financial judgement to determine optimal & prioritised solutions.
  • Awareness and understanding of key business drivers and business strategy, both for now and in the future.
  • Ability to devise solutions to problems / challenges.
Minimum Requirements
  • Engineering/Professional qualification or equivalent experience (including HNC or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in the delivery & project management of major engineering projects.
  • Ability to implement, apply and promote CDM and Health & Safety best practice.
  • Proficient in the use of project management software, Microsoft Projects or similar.
  • Computer literacy.
  • A current UK driving licence (Travel required).
