Freelance Project & Construction Managers – UK Utility-Scale Solar (Start Feb 2026)

1 - 2 year Contracts | UK Travel

We’re supporting a major international renewables developer delivering two new 55 MW utility-scale solar parks in the UK . They’re now looking for experienced Project Managers and Construction Managers to join on a freelance basis.

If you’ve actually built large solar sites in the UK — and can prove it — you’re exactly who they want to talk to.

🔧 The Role

You’ll be responsible for full-lifecycle delivery of utility-scale solar projects :

  • Day-to-day oversight of engineering, construction and commissioning
  • On-site leadership of engineers, subcontractors & civil / electrical teams
  • Procurement, supplier coordination & contract negotiation
  • Technical evaluation and hands‑on problem-solving
  • Driving the project from breaking ground to operational handover

This is real, on-the-ground project delivery — not remote oversight.

🎯 What You Need

This client wants genuine UK solar experience — no inflated CVs.

Must-haves
  • Proven track record delivering utility‑scale UK solar farms
  • Strong understanding of UK grid‑connection processes — G99 experience is a big advantage
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on‑site
  • Ability to travel to UK project locations as needed
  • Commitment to long‑term engagements (1–2+ years)
Bonus points
  • Experience with international EPCs
  • Strong commercial and supplier negotiation background
