Project Manager - Chemical Manufacturing

A leading organisation is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects across its operations in the UK. The role is ideal for an experienced project professional with a strong technical background in chemical processes and manufacturing environments. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all phases of chemical manufacturing projects, from concept and feasibility studies through design, implementation, commissioning, and handover. The role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring safety and quality standards, managing budgets, schedules, and risks, and maintaining strong communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress against objectives
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering, operations, procurement, and external contractors
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and changes effectively
  • Prepare and present project reports, updates, and documentation to senior management and stakeholders
  • Drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives within projects
  • Ensure procurement, commissioning, and handover processes are executed smoothly
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience managing chemical manufacturing or process-based projects
  • Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) preferred
