Job description
FM Conway Project Manager – Structures Division

FM Conway is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our successful Structures division. The role involves expanding our Aggregate and Asphalt division’s portfolio by building our eighth Asphalt Plant in Wellingborough. This is a 12‑18 month fixed‑term contract based full‑time at our Wellingborough site.

Responsibilities
  • Providing up‑to‑date budget and programming information at all project key stages.
  • Managing, coordinating, reviewing and ensuring buildability of designs.
  • Ensuring the project is set up correctly with the appropriate resources (plant, labour, materials, subcontractors) and maintained in accordance with the Structures Works package.
  • Managing and coordinating with the project team to keep all applications, permits and approvals in place throughout the project duration.
  • Reviewing and ensuring compliance with subcontractor pre‑start meetings, minutes and documentation prior to commencement on site.
  • Drafting, coordinating and reviewing subcontract contract documents with the Quantity Surveyor and internal commercial/contract team.
Skills and Experience

We are seeking a driven and skilled Project Manager with proven expertise in successfully delivering large‑scale civil engineering, mechanical and industrial/plant projects. You’ll bring exceptional skills in resource planning, cost and value management, stakeholder engagement and design management. To excel in this role you will need:

  • Degree‑level qualification or equivalent (e.g. NVQ Level 6, HNC, HND in a construction‑related field).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
