Project Manager - Fire Alarm Projects
Location: Basingstoke | Salary: £45,000 per annum | Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Overview
We are seeking an organised and proactive Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of small fire alarm installation and upgrade projects. This role is ideal for someone with experience in the fire & security industry who thrives in a customer-facing, fast-paced environment and can manage multiple projects from initiation to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of small-scale fire alarm projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Produce project plans, RAMS, schedules, and progress reports.
- Conduct site surveys, technical reviews, and pre-start meetings where required.
- Maintain strong client communication, providing updates and resolving issues promptly.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards, fire safety regulations (e.g., 'BS 5839'), and company policies.
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment.
- Oversee project financials including cost control, variations, and invoicing support.
- Carry out post-project reviews to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Previous experience managing fire alarm or fire & security projects (small works preferred).
- Strong understanding of fire detection systems and relevant standards (e.g., 'BS 5839').
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications.
- Competent in project planning and use of MS Office (Project knowledge beneficial).
- Full UK driving licence.
