Job description

Role: Project Engineer

Location: Rotherham

Salary: Up to £40k plus quarterly bonus

We are seeking a talented Project Engineer to develop innovative and improved engineered products. This role involves contributing to the design and quotation phases of projects, ensuring manufacturability and cost efficiency, and supporting the successful introduction of new products to market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and enhance products to meet performance, quality, and cost objectives within agreed timelines.
  • Provide expert input on engineering aspects during project planning, including application considerations and tolerances.
  • Ensure product designs and drawings enable efficient and cost-effective manufacturing.
  • Act as a key link between customer service teams and manufacturing to ensure smooth product launches.
  • Support sales engineers and customers with technical expertise via calls, online meetings, email, and occasional travel within the UK, Europe, and globally.
  • Develop technical documentation and presentations to assist the sales team in business development.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners, including suppliers and manufacturers.
Person Specification
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Strong background in design, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Proficient in CAD and IT tools, with knowledge of manufacturing processes and machining technologies.
  • Solid understanding of applied mechanics and engineering applications across sectors such as marine, industrial, energy, automotive, and aerospace.
