Project Controls Manager
Location: Havant Thicket Reservoir, Hampshire
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
About the Role
Talented People are recruiting on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor for an experienced Project Controls Manager to support the delivery of a major infrastructure project based at Havant Thicket Reservoir. This role is central to performance monitoring, reporting, risk management and strategic decision-making across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor project performance using Earned Value Management (EVM), KPIs and dashboards.
- Provide integration between design, cost control, planning, estimating and delivery teams.
- Produce accurate monthly reports and dashboards for senior management and stakeholders.
- Support project reviews and senior leadership meetings with clear performance insight.
- Structure and manage changes to contract scope in line with project requirements.
- Support project risk identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring.
- Maintain and update project schedules alongside Project Planners.
- Act as a link between project management and site execution teams.
- Challenge performance and proactively identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist with collaboration deliverables and document control updates.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong understanding of scheduling, cost forecasting and senior reporting.
- Experience working on Design & Build construction projects.
- Exposure to NEC contracts and formal change management processes.
- Experience on large or complex infrastructure projects (advantageous).
- Joint venture project experience (desirable).
- Commercially aware with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Technology & Systems
- Advanced Excel skills, including queries and data analysis.
- Experience with Power BI and dashboard reporting.
- Familiar with Autodesk Construction Cloud and BIM environments.
- Confident using document management and information systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance or similar.
- CSCS Manager or Academically Qualified card (essential).
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Able to work autonomously and provide technical guidance to others
