Job description

Play a key part in coordinating a programme that relies on clear, reliable planning.

Our Client has a requirement for all levels of Programme Schedulers, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Bristol, with travel to Glasgow on a fortnightly basis.

Role Purpose

You will support the development, maintenance, and integration of the programme schedule, working closely with project schedulers, planners, and programme stakeholders. Depending on experience level, you will either contribute to or lead the creation of an integrated programme schedule in P6, support programme controls, and ensure accurate, consistent reporting relating to time, cost, scope, and performance. The role contributes directly to ensuring the programme remains aligned to strategy, affordability, and approved delivery parameters.

Job Role Responsibilities
  • Build, update, and maintain an integrated programme schedule in P6.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Schedulers, Project Managers, and Delivery Agents to gather progress and ensure accurate schedule updates.
  • Support or undertake critical path analysis.
  • Manage and report on dependencies and key milestones.
  • Interrogate third-party schedules and ensure alignment.
  • Support the establishment and continuous improvement of programme control capabilities, including governance and reporting.
  • Assist in developing processes, tools, and reporting structures to ensure consistent capture of scheduling information across the programme.
  • Support development of the change management process.Ensure quality checks and adherence to planning best practice.
  • Produce, update, and present schedule reports for senior management.
  • Support analysis of schedule performance data, including root-cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
  • Contribute to programme performance insights across time, cost, and scope.
  • Support risk management activities and contribute to building QSRA schedules.Understand and apply risk and opportunity management principles relevant to scheduling and programme planning.
  • Engage effectively with planners, tranche leads, delivery teams, and functional managers.
  • Promote open communication and collaboration between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed or agreed with Programme Controls and Integration leadership.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications
  • The post holder must hold SC Clearance for this position

  • Knowledge of events that drive schedule delay and change.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint (Power BI desirable).
Desirable
  • Demonstrable leadership in scheduling or programme integration.
  • Experience in major programmes/projects with integrated schedules.
  • Experience across full programme/project lifecycles.
  • Ability to interrogate 3rd-party schedules and challenge appropriately.
  • Experience developing programme control processes, change control, and schedule governance.
