Job Description
Wood is recruiting for Production Technician for Leman Alpha on a 12 month fixed term basis.
Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Operate and monitor offshore process systems and associated equipment to meet production targets.
- Act as Control Room Operator (CRO), ensuring safe and efficient proactive plant control.
- Gather process data, maintain accurate logs, and report anomalies promptly.
- Prepare and reinstate plant and equipment for maintenance and operational start-up.
- Interpret and apply Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for troubleshooting and operational tasks.
- Carry out all tasks adhering to the platform operation procedure manual (POPM) and in association with any deviation or management of change approved processes that interact with the approved procedure and or protocols.
Maintenance & Reliability
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Investigate operational anomalies and implement front‑line solutions.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to optimise plant reliability and reduce backlog.
- Actively contribute to the what‑if and 5‑why process focusing on reliability and prevention/no‑repetition of undesirable events.
Safety & Compliance
- Execute isolations and de‑isolations using IRRAT methodology and ensure compliance with safe isolation standards.
- Prepare and verify work permits, ensuring control of work through P‑Vision systems, act as asset area technician.
- Operate essential safety equipment and conduct task‑based risk assessments.
- Maintain adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Provide operational support to Normally Unmanned Installations (NUIs), including isolation verification and safe reinstatement as and when requested.
- Ensure compliance with Permit‑to‑Work and Safe Systems of Work during NUI visits.
- Prepare plant for maintenance and operational activities on Nodal asset and associated NUIs if and when requested.
Emergency Response
- Serve as an Emergency Response Team (ERT) member, participating in drills and responding effectively to offshore emergencies.
- Maintain competency in emergency procedures and equipment use.
- Control Room Operator Management of major emergency (MME).
Continuous Improvement
- Suggest and support modifications to improve plant efficiency and safety.
- Participate in audits and contribute to operational excellence initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing training and competency development.
Qualifications
Essential Education & Experience
- NVQ / SVQ Level 3 in Processing Operations (Hydrocarbons) or equivalent.
- Relevant offshore experience in production operations and maintenance.
Technical Skills essential for this role
- Strong understanding of offshore hydrocarbon processing systems and associated equipment, must have served as a senior production operations technician previously.
- Competent in isolations, fault diagnosis, and safe reinstatement of plant using Isolation & Re‑instatement Risk Assessment Tool (IRRAT) process & control, demonstrate knowledge of isolation base standards, valve proving, minimum isolation requirements based on task specific activities, aligned with proving safe work release.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and associated technical documentation for overall asset assurance, control and competence.
- Demonstrate deep understanding and frontend user capability of digital process control systems (DCS / PAS) & understanding of alarms, categorisation, reaction and response process.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of safety systems including ESD / PSD and ability to interpret C&E diagrams and demonstrate understanding of integrity ratings and requirements.
- Demonstrate an understanding of control of work systems, hazard & controls requirements. P‑Vision for control of work experience is desirable.
Skills desirable but not essential for this role
- Mechanical : Trade competency & demonstratable experience (Certified apprenticeship & minimum of NVQ3)
- Electrical : Trade competency & demonstratable experience (Certified apprenticeship & minimum of NVQ3)
- Instrumentation : Trade competency & demonstratable experience (Certified apprenticeship & minimum of NVQ3)
- NUI-OIM : Management of Major Emergency (lvl1) & Production operational experience on related normally unmanned installations (NUIs)

Important Role Information
Thie role will initially be a fixed term temporary 12 month contract, fix to a 2 / 2 / 2 / 4 offshore rotation with triply performance reviews and can be terminated based on that performance outcome. For the right experienced candidate additional training will be provided, which will require managerial approval.
