A leading manufacturing company in Gillingham is seeking an experienced Production Technician to maintain and troubleshoot production machinery. Ideal candidates will have a mechanical background and problem-solving skills. Benefits include 33 days holiday, pension, employee welfare scheme, canteen and car parking. Permanent position – Mon to Fri, 7am to 4.30pm (11am on Fri), based in Gillingham, Kent.

Role Overview

Our client, a leading manufacturer of stainless steel products for various industries, is seeking a Production Technician/Engineer to join their team. Reporting to the Operations Manager and working as part of a team, this role is suited to someone with a strong mechanical background and aptitude.

Duties
  • Set, adjust and maintain bespoke production machinery used for cutting, forming and assembling metal parts
  • Fault find on production machinery to ensure smooth running
  • Liaise with management regarding production schedules
  • Work with production staff to resolve technical and setting issues, including liaising with toolroom and maintenance departments
Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in an engineering environment or a similar role
  • Good knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatic, coupled with good mechanical knowledgeStrong problem‑solving abilities and ability to work autonomously within a team environment
  • Working to ISO9001 standards
  • Strong communication skills
