Job summary

A leading company in life sciences is seeking a Quality Control Technician to ensure that Solus kits perform according to QC specifications. The role includes maintaining ISO 9001 standards, assisting in the manufacture and QC testing of kits, and training staff in microbiological techniques. Ideal candidates should have 2+ years of microbiology experience and excellent organizational skills. This is a full-time position located in the Liverpool City Region.

Qualifications

  • Self-reliant individual with excellent organizational skills.
  • 2+ years of experience in Microbiology or related fields.
  • Experience with maintaining pure cultures and performing accurate serial dilutions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure production complies with good manufacturing practices.
  • Assist in preparation of production and quality control SOPs.
  • Maintain adequate stocks of laboratory consumables.
  • Train staff in basic aseptic and microbiological techniques.

Job description
Overview

Responsible for ensuring Solus kits perform according to the QC specification. Responsible for ensuring new antibody batches and incoming raw materials perform according to the relevant QC specifications. Responsible for keeping the required monitoring and verification records. Play a significant role in maintaining the ISO 9001 Quality system for production. Assist with the manufacturing of kits as time permits.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that production work is in accordance with the good manufacturing practices appropriate to our industry.
  • Ensure all production work is carried out according to our ISO 9001 Quality System.
  • Help in the preparation of production and quality control SOPs.
  • Help with the timely manufacture and QC testing of our kits.
  • Maintain adequate stocks of laboratory consumables and our bacterial library.
  • Ensure good laboratory practices in the QC/microbiology laboratory.
  • Help to promote safe practices within the Mansfield production environment.
  • Review H&S/COSHH risk assessments to ensure safe working practices are observed.
  • Conduct temperature monitoring as required.
  • Conduct equipment verifications as required.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy laboratory area.
  • Train other staff members in basic aseptic and microbiological techniques.
Qualifications
  • This role will suit someone who is self-reliant, with excellent organizational skills allied to good practical microbiology experience e.g. working with and maintaining pure cultures, performing accurate serial dilutions, and running ELISA tests.
  • Preferably with at least 2 years' job experience with a Microbiology or related Biological Sciences qualification.
