Production Operative – Fabrication / Assembly / Paint Shop

Our client based in New Milton is looking for a Production Operative to join their Mechanical, Paint Shop, and Fabrication Department with an immediate start available. This is a varied hands‑on role, ideal for candidates with experience in fabrication, mechanical assembly, or paint shop operations, although full training will be provided for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

• Paint Shop / Trainee Powder Coater
• Loading and unloading products on a moving paint line
• Working with sheet metal products of varying sizes
• Carrying out visual quality checks to meet company standards
• Assisting with paint spraying (training provided)
• Following all health & safety standards at all times
• Supporting continuous improvement within the department

Mechanical Assembly / Cabinet Assembler

• Assembling metal cabinets using nuts, bolts, rivets, and hand tools
• Working from engineering drawings (preferred but not essential)
• Carrying out quality inspections during final assembly
• Assisting with larger external product assembly when required
• Working closely with other production departments

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, paint shop, or production preferred
• Comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting
• Good attention to detail and quality‑focused approach
• Able to work in a warm manufacturing environment
• Quick learner with a positive attitude
• Familiar with a wide range of hand tools
• Strong awareness of health & safety procedures

Additional Information

Applicants with recent similar experience are preferred; however, candidates with transferable mechanical, fabrication, or assembly skills will also be considered.
