Production Laboratory Technician

Location: East Grinstead

Shifts:

Pay Rate: £15.48

The Production Laboratory Technician works in a laboratory and aseptic dispensing area to produce Sensititre™ antimicrobial susceptibility testing plates. The role involves preparing solutions, operating dispensing equipment, and supporting daily laboratory production while following GLP, GMP, Health & Safety rules, and SOPs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare antimicrobial and laboratory solutions by weighing, mixing, and diluting materials
  • Set up and operate dispensing pumps and carry out routine checks
  • Produce supporting solutions such as media, buffers, and excipients
  • Wash and autoclave laboratory equipment and glassware
  • Carry out basic checks on laboratory equipment (pipettes, balances, etc.)
  • Maintain stock levels of materials and consumables
  • Accurately complete paperwork and electronic records
  • Use computer systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office
  • Follow all Health & Safety, GLP, GMP, and SOP requirements
Health, Safety & Quality
  • Work in full compliance with Health & Safety regulations at all times
  • Ensure all activities meet GLP, GMP, and medical device manufacturing standards
  • Follow SOPs precisely and report any deviations or non-conformances promptly
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
  • Ideally educated to A-level standard in a scientific subject
  • Ability to follow SOPs and Health & Safety guidelines accurately
  • Strong attention to detail when performing laboratory tasks and maintaining records
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise tasks using own initiative
  • Manual dexterity and capability to perform complex, repetitive laboratory tasks
  • Basic computer literacy (experience with SAP or laboratory systems is advantageous)
