Production Engineer

Lichfield – 6‑month contract – Days: 39 hours per week, with flexible start and finish times – Hourly rate negotiable depending on experience.

Overview

EMBS Engineering is working with a leading precision engineering manufacturer based near Lichfield to find an experienced 5‑axis CNC Production Engineer. The business is a long‑established specialist within the precision engineering sector, supplying safety‑critical and highly complex components to globally recognised customers.

Due to a busy order book, our client is keen to add additional expertise to their talented existing team.

Your core responsibilities

• Programming and refining CNC machining operations on multi‑axis machines using state‑of‑the‑art offline software to produce detailed, safety‑critical components
• Performing reverse engineering techniques to identify machining improvements
• Developing and modifying 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software
• Creating work instructions, SOPs and general production documentation
• Contributing suggestions and improvements to develop internal capabilities and final component output

What experience you MUST have

• Experience performing a Production Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering / CAD CAM
• Programmer / Offline CNC Programmer / CNC Programmer or similar role within precision manufacturing
• Strong proficiency in Siemens NX, Hypermill or Catia V5 preferred; other CAD/CAM software considered
• Solid understanding and experience of machining metallic materials
• Sound knowledge of GD&T
• Experience creating programs to produce high‑precision, complex components
