Where you’ll be working

Our Mortgages function brings together 3,000 colleagues, all working towards our mission to provide the best mortgage service in the UK. You’ll work across our high‑performing Mortgages Product teams, developing skills in product design, insight creation, and project management. You’ll gain hands‑on experience in pricing, performance, customer research, and process improvement.

What you’ll be doing

On the Product and Project Management, Mortgages Industrial Placement, you’ll gain the knowledge, skills and network to prepare you for a rewarding career in banking. You’ll focus on building product knowledge and understanding performance, while contributing to product design, customer research, and process improvement across multiple projects. With rotations across the Mortgage Product team, you’ll gain exposure to areas including pricing, customer insight, product development, and process efficiency, giving you a rounded view of how we deliver impact every day.

  • Mortgage pricing, learning how we price our products to meet member needs whilst delivering the right commercial return
  • Product development, helping us launch new products to meet member needs
  • Data and insight; building skills in data analytics to help us understand our customers better
  • Customer management, ensuring our products meet customer needs, deliver fair outcomes and operate in line with regulations

During the year you’ll develop new analytical skills and commercial judgement, as well as giving you the opportunity to take insight and proposal papers to senior leaders and committees.

Location

At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected. For this job you’ll spend at least two days per week, based at our Bournemouth office.
