Job description

We’re looking for a Product Designer II to join our team and help us define Audiobooks experiences that excite listeners, authors, & publishers - while growing Spotify’s business around the world. You’ll be collaborating with a diverse and inclusive cross‑functional team, helping establish and scale this new content vertical.

What You’ll Do
  • Responsible for design quality and cohesion for a set of features in SFA.
  • Triangulate team strategy with Author & Publisher strategy and broader Audiobooks Vertical strategy.
  • Push back when needed, and address root problems, not just symptoms.
  • Tie work to business goals and customer needs. Advocate for design goals to stakeholders and influence the team’s roadmap.
  • Embrace complexity, and find patterns and ways of organizing content and information that allow the customer to focus on the primary JTBD while also understanding where they are and how to navigate.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate and combine words, visuals, inputs, and time to improve overall UX and customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with Researchers and Data Scientists to identify what questions we need to answer, and challenges/influences the team’s understanding of the problem.
  • Have a solid track record of delivering value that meets team objectives (e.g., metrics, discovery objective, enablement objective, KR).
  • Focus on driving outcomes, not just outputs. Influences how their team defines success metrics.
  • Know when and how to apply any or all fundamentals of graphic design to bring clarity to complexity.
  • Partner with design and front‑end engineers to create prototypes with motion and real data. Understand the dependencies between design, front‑end and backend technologies. Use prototyping to clarify design direction and document product and design rationale over time.
Who You Are
  • You are a solid communicator – sharing relevant information within and across teams.
  • Build trusting relationships with peers that allow for more critical feedback.
  • Help identify opportunities and propose changes that improve collaboration across teams. Anticipate problems and troubleshoot independently.
  • Act inclusively with others when leading work and initiatives. Hold others accountable for non‑inclusive behaviors or behaviors that impact the psychological safety of others.
  • Contribute to a healthy and growing design organization, inside your team/domain and across the Design org.
  • Review portfolios and conduct interviews as needed.
Where You’ll Be
  • This role is based in our London office.
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in‑person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
