Procurement Manager

Overview of Role and Responsibilities
Procurement
  • Leadership and management of supply tendering processes, to ensure that Akari obtains value for money and high quality services / supplies. End to end management of such processes, from definition of requirement, sourcing, tender analysis, negotiation and implementation
  • Continuous search for optimum supply relationships, in order to mitigate supply chain risk
  • Performance management of key suppliers utilising feedback from Home Managers
  • Management of Procurement projects between supplier and end customer, (our Care Homes)
  • Provision of Procurement expertise in cross functional projects – The role will span procurement activity across a wide range of direct and indirect cost categories
  • Management of Supplier and contractor compliance process
  • New supplier set ups - end to end process with supplier and finance colleagues
  • Working closely with Operations Finance Business partner to analyse spend data to inform Procurement activity
  • Maintain contract and key supplier listings with most up to date information, and ensure budget holders and stakeholders have the correct information
  • Line management of Procurement Administrator

  • Strong communicator with the confidence to positively challenge, influence and support at all levels
  • Proven analytical skills backed up by excellent commercial acumen
  • Positive, self-motivated and able to work effectively without close supervision and on own initiative
  • Highly organised / structured approach, with the ability to co-ordinate a large number of tasks simultaneously and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills to differing roles in the business
