Job summary

A leading defence consultancy is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager for an initial 3-month assignment, with the potential for extension. The role involves determining the commercial strategy for projects, drafting management plans, and ensuring compliance with procurement regulations. Ideal candidates should have significant experience in managing the procurement process within the public sector and strong skills in stakeholder engagement. This position offers hybrid working based in Flintshire.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing the end-to-end procurement process from pre sourcing to contract management.
  • Experience working within the public sector with public sector regulations.
  • Experience in stakeholder and supplier engagement and building positive working relationships.

Responsibilities

Summer-Browning Associates is currently supporting our defence client, who is seeking a Procurement Manager for an initial 3-month assignment with the option to extend.

Location : Hybrid working - Flintshire

About the Role

You will be responsible for determining the appropriate commercial strategy for project requirements. Drafting the strategy plans, commercial management plans and facilitating / delivering it or making recommendations for action to Senior Leadership, ensuring all contracts adhere to procurement regulations and Government policy.

Skills and Experience
  • Experience in managing the end-to-end procurement process from pre sourcing to contract management.
  • Experience working within the public sector with public sector regulations (e.g. PCR 2015, UCR 2016, PA 2023)
  • Experience in stakeholder and supplier engagement and building positive working relationships.
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems (E.g. SAP or Oracle)
  • MCIPS / CIPS (Desirable)
