Job Title: Procurement Engineer / Engineering Buyer

Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 (dependent on experience)

Location: Dukinfield – On‑site with some flexible working hours available

What You'll Be Doing
  • Break down engineering BOMs to identify purchased components
  • Send out RFQs and source cost‑effective supply
  • Raise purchase orders aligned with project timelines and pricing
  • Monitor open orders and chase late deliveries
  • Work closely with stores and production to avoid delays
  • Track supplier performance with clear KPIs
  • Find and qualify alternative sources as needed
  • Contribute to production meetings and flag procurement risks
  • Make sure all bought‑in items match technical drawings and specs
What You'll Need
  • At least 3 years' experience in procurement or supply chain within an engineering environment
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Skilled in negotiation and delivering cost savings
  • Familiar with ERP/MRP systems
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines
  • Experience issuing RFQs and managing supplier relationships
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset
Desirable
  • Experience in welding, fabrication, aerospace, or defence supply chains
  • Knowledge of EU/NATO supplier markets
  • Supplier development experience
