Job Description

Our client is seeking a Procurement Coordinator / Buyer to support manufacturing operations through the effective sourcing and management of raw materials, consumables, and production-related services. This role is key to ensuring material availability, maintaining stock levels, and supporting uninterrupted production within a CNC machining environment.

You will work closely with the Production Planner and Goods In team to ensure materials and services are ordered, tracked, and delivered in line with production requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procure raw materials including steel, aluminium, brass, and other production materials
  • Track and follow up on raw material orders through to delivery
  • Monitor and manage raw material stock levels
  • Order consumables such as cutting tools, tooling, oils, and machine parts
  • Raise purchase orders for production-related services and CNC machine replacement parts
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules
  • Support production continuity by anticipating material requirements and supplier lead times
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, email and telephone
  • Ability to use ERP systems and interpret reports to support purchasing decisions
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Production Planner and Goods In operator
  • Highly organised with a systematic approach to decision-making
  • Agile and proactive, with the ability to plan ahead based on material usage and supplier lead times
