Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to provide practical, operational and technical support for environmental consultancy projects on commercial, industrial, municipal wastewater and sludge processing projects. You will be contributing to a variety of consultancy project types that will primarily include; flow and load survey, headroom assessments, technology optioneering, feasibility and pilot studies, process design, process commissioning, process optimisation, RCA and troubleshooting.

Who We Are Looking For
  • The ideal candidate would be someone who has gained relevant practical experience, with an interest in providing practical solutions to environmental improvement.
  • This role is well suited to someone who is keen to gain practical experience of operating ETP's and working within a diverse team on environmental consultancy projects.
  • The role will be a mixture of lab, field and office based and will involve collection and analysis of samples and interpretation of results.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel to a range of sites throughout the UK and some projects may involve working away for short periods from time to time.
  • Whilst the role is likely to be mostly field / lab based, opportunity will be provided to develop technical knowledge and skills through desk-based learning, mentoring and on-the-job training. A tailored professional development plan will be developed in consultation with the company Technical Director, with routine reviews to track progress and set targets.
Essential skills and experience
  • Practical experience of working on wastewater and ETP sites
  • Theoretical knowledge in water / wastewater processes
  • Excellent laboratory skills
  • Field experience involving sample collection and use of sampling machines and flow meters
  • Good communicator, coordinating with various teams and to your line manager
  • Willing to work outdoors and collect and analyse wastewater samples
  • Full clean UK driver's license and access to own vehicle essential
Preferable skills and experience
  • Baseline understanding of wastewater and sludge treatment processes
  • Practical experience of working on industrial sites / water utility sites
  • Awareness of H&S requirements for working on sites (RAMS, permits, inductions)
  • Interest and awareness of environmental issues
