The Burford Recruitment Company is delighted to be working on behalf of a private UHNW family in a stunning Cotswolds residence near Stow-on-the-Wold, who are seeking an experienced Gardener to join their first-class team.

This full‑time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity for a friendly and knowledgeable gardener with a passion for maintaining historic and beautiful gardens to the highest standard.

The estate extends over 22 acres and features a working Walled Garden, Greenhouses, Plant Nursery, Formal Lawns, Arboretum, Rose Garden, Hot Borders, Stream Gardens, Woodland Gardens, Topiary, Rock Garden, and Heather Garden.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Head Gardener to maintain the garden to a high horticultural standard
  • General garden maintenance including mowing, weeding, and hedge cutting
  • Maintain borders and garden areas to the highest possible standards
  • Operate a range of garden machinery safely and efficiently
  • Work hands‑on across all areas of the garden, in all weathers
Skills and Qualifications
  • Horticultural qualification preferred
  • PA1/PA6 Spray Certificates desirable
  • Full driving licence required due to the rural location
  • Organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Passionate about horticulture and maintaining gardens to a high standard
  • Physically fit with a willingness to continue learning and developing as a horticulturalist
