Packaging Print – Dry Offset

Location: Sedgefield
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off – 12-hour shifts
Salary: £16.28 hourly rate benefits

About the Company

Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturer within the food packaging industry, renowned for high-quality printed products and a commitment to innovation, safety, and sustainability. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced Print Machine Technician to join their skilled production team.

The Role

As a Print Machine Technician, you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining dry offset printing presses used for high-volume plastic food packaging. Working within a fast-paced, quality-driven manufacturing environment, you’ll ensure machines run efficiently, downtime is minimised, and print quality consistently meets customer specifications.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with dry offset, flexographic, or lithographic printing experience who takes pride in delivering high-quality results and contributing to continuous improvement across the production line.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and change over dry offset printing machines.
• Monitor and adjust print quality during production runs.
• Perform minor mechanical maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Ensure materials and components are available for each job to maximise uptime.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
• Support efficiency, waste reduction, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Conduct thorough shift handovers and collaborate effectively with team members.

About You

Essential:

• Previous experience in dry offset, flexographic, or lithographic printing.
• Skilled in machine setup, changeovers, and quality control.
• Basic mechanical and maintenance knowledge.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Desirable:

• Experience working within food packaging or BRC-accredited environments.
