Hours: 9-5 GMT Location: Remote (UK Based), with quarterly in-person meet ups in Edinburgh or Glasgow

About the role

We’re seeking a senior Print Estimator Lead — someone who can confidently balance hands‑on estimating with team leadership. You’ll manage a team of four estimators while remaining actively involved in quoting, reviewing, and processing orders. You’ll embed best practice in every workflow, ensuring accuracy, speed, and compliance across US print orders. You’ll be UK‑based (preferably within the Central Belt of Scotland), with strong knowledge of the US print industry, including supplier catalogues, margins, and markups. You’ll develop strong relationships with our Print Suppliers, guide your team through complex quoting scenarios, and drive ongoing process improvement. This is both a leadership and operational role — ideal for someone who loves the detail of estimation work but thrives in mentoring others and refining how things are done. Efficiency and attention to detail are key! We are looking for someone who is able to confidently work alongside our internal team in order to deliver results – this will involve compliance with established workflows and ensuring close management and prioritisation of day‑to‑day workloads. You’ll engage with our suppliers and operations teams across the business. A positive approach to relationships, great communication skills and a can‑do attitude is important.

What you’ll do

Leadership + Management

• Lead, coach and develop a team of estimators, embedding best practice and promoting a culture of accuracy, shared ownership of quality and continuous improvement.
• Oversee team workload, prioritisation and performance, ensuring orders and quotes are processed accurately, consistently and in line with internal procedures.
• Act as the main point of print expertise within the team, working closely with our Supply Chain to build shared understanding of US print procedures, and support complex quotes or pricing escalations.
• Use data insights to review performance and identify improvements, driving greater efficiency, quality and consistency across US print orders.

Hands‑On Estimation + Order Processing

• Manage end‑to‑end quoting, executing manual and supplier quotes, reviewing accuracy, and applying appropriate margins and mark‑ups.
• Ensure quality control and compliance, checking that orders meet client specifications and internal standards, and escalating issues as required.
• Coordinate order workflows and communication across teams, managing priorities to meet KPIs, resolving order or scope changes, and maintaining clear communication with suppliers and sales representatives.

What you’ll bring

• 3–5 years’ experience in print production or estimation, with exposure to print suppliers, pricing, or markets.
• Hands‑on experience in digital and wide format print production and finishing.
• Proven team leadership of mentoring experience – confident managing people, workloads and performance.
• Excellent understanding of print pricing structures, markups and cost modelling.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy under pressure.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with vendors and internal teams.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication skills across remote teams.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage both your own orders and team oversight simultaneously.

Preferred

• Background in print estimating
• Experience working with third‑party print providers
• Experience working with US‑based printers
• Proficiency in workflow software preferred – our team uses Asana, but similar software understanding (Monday, Trello) will suffice.
• Prior knowledge of US Hospitality and Alcohol Beverage industry is a plus.
